Early Life and Career
Ranvir Shorey, born on August 18, 1972, in Jalandhar, Punjab, has carved a niche for himself in the Indian film industry with his exceptional acting skills and versatility. Ranvir gets his early education from Dayanand Model Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar, before going to St. Theresa’s High School, Bandra, Mumbai. After his schooling, he joined Mithibai College but dropped out in his second year. He then completed his Diploma in Film and Video Production at Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai. Ranvir went on to earn another diploma in film production from the Digital Film Academy, New York. He also studied practical aesthetics at the Atlantic Theatre Company, New York.
Before Ranvir Shorey became a familiar face in Indian cinema, he was captivating audiences with his charisma and wit as a video jockey (VJ) on MTV. Perhaps one of the most significant milestones in Shorey’s VJ career was his participation in “The Great Indian Comedy Show.” The show, which aired on STAR One, was a sketch comedy series that showcased Shorey’s comedic talents. Leveraging his growing popularity, Shorey hosts the show “Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun?” alongside Vinay Pathak, another well-known figure in the entertainment industry.

Ranvir made his acting debut in the film “Ek Chhotisi Love Story”(2002), where he shared the screen with Manisha Koirala. Despite a minor role in his next film, “Jism” (2003), it wasn’t until 2006 that he gained significant recognition with his performance in the comedy “Khosla Ka Ghosla.”.
Following his breakthrough, Shorey delivered memorable performances in films like Traffic Signal (2007), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. Personal Life
Ranvir married Konkona Sen Sharma in 2010. The couple was blessed with a son, Haroon, in 2011. They got separated after 5 years of marriage.
