Avika Gor has become one of the most recognised faces in Indian households for playing the role of Aanndi in “Balika Vadhu.” Since then, she has successfully transitioned into films, especially in the Telugu film industry, and is a promising talent for the future.
Early Life
Avika was born on June 30, 1997, in Mumbai, into a middle-class Gujarati family. Her father, Sameer Gor, works as an investment insurer. Her mother, Chetna Gor, is a homemaker, though some sources mention her as a doctor. She has no siblings, being the only child. Avika completed her high school education from Ryan International School, balancing studies with her acting career. She considered further studies in mass communication or filmmaking but prioritized her professional commitments.

Avika entered entertainment at age eight, competing in fashion shows and winning the Best Model award for Gini & Jony in 2007. She debuted on television with Ssshhhh…Koi Hai in 2007. She also acted in TV serial “Raajkumar Aaryyan (2008).”

Her breakthrough came with the iconic role of Anandi in the critically acclaimed television series “Balika Vadhu,” which not only won her immense popularity but also several awards for her outstanding portrayal of a young girl navigating the complexities of child marriage.
Despite her busy schedule, Avika continued her education, first at Sharon English High School and later at Ryan International School in Mumbai. Avika made her film debut with Arup Dutta’s “Morning Walk (2009),” with actors like Anupam Kher, Sharmila Tagore, Rajit Kapur, and Divya Dutta. She also appeared in films like Pathshala (2010) and Tezz (2012).

She made her adult debut with the Telugu film “Uyyala Jampala” in 2013. Her performance was lauded by both audiences and critics, earning her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut in Telugu. She went on to do many Telugu films like “Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki,” “Cinema Choopistha Mava,” “Thanu Nenu,” “Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada,” “Raju Gari Gadhi 3,” “Net,” “#Bro,” “10th Class Diaries,” “Thank You,” “Popcorn,” and “Umapati.” Avika also starred in Hindi films like “Kahani Rubberband Ki (2022)” and “1920: Horrors of the Heart (2023).”
Apart from Balika Vadhu, Avika has also done serials like Sasural Simar Ka (2011), Laado: Veerpur Ki Mardani (2017), and reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 (2012), Khatra Khatra Khatra (2019), and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 (2019).


Personal Life
Over the years, Avika has been actively involved in campaigns against child marriage and has used her platform to raise awareness about various social issues.
Avika dated Manish Raisinghan, her Sasural Simar Ka co-star, though they denied romance. She got engaged to Milind Chandwani, a social activist and former Roadies contestant, in 2024.
