Sanjay Narvekar is a well-known actor, primarily recognized for his work in Marathi and Hindi cinema. He first came to prominence for his role as “Dedh Footiya” in the cult classic Vaastav (1999). Since then, he has been part of many projects like Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar, Hungama, Khabardar, Aga Bai Arrecha!, Fakta Ladh Mhana, Ye Re Ye Re Paisa, and many more.
Early Life and Career
Born on July 17, 1962, in Malvan, Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. Narvekar was educated at Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College, Mumbai. His journey in acting began during his college days, when he started doing Marathi theatre.

His talent soon led him to professional theatre, where he performed in various plays like “Koliya Raja,” “All the Best,” “Aadhanta,” “Aashi Pakhare Yeti,” “Locha Zale Re,” “Rangya Rangila Re,” “Chamatkar,” “Gholat Ghol,” “Teen Payanchi,” “Sharyat,” “Circuit House,” and “Ek Fool Do Bloody Fool.”
Although he made his acting debut with Dayal Nihalani’s 1988 film “Andhaa Yudh.” It was a very small role and after it he went back to theatre where he was doing good.
After many years he made his Marathi debut with Girish Ghanekar’s Navasache Por in 1998. The film starring Yashwant rao, Ramesh Bhatkar, and Alka Kubel, featured him as a drunkard. In 1999 he made his TV devut with “Gubbare,”

Sanjay’s breakthrough role came in 1999 with Mahesh Majrekar‘s “Vaastav: The Reality,” starring Sanjay Dutt. In the film, he played the character Chandrakant Kumar, urf “Dedh Footiya.” This role earned him widespread acclaim and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. The same year he acted in Rajesh Ram Singh’s Baaghi (1999) as Chakku, Khalid Mohammed’s Fiza (2001), N Maharajan’s Indian (2001) as Rahim, and David Dhavan’s Jodi No. 1 (2001) as Virdee.
In 2001, he acted in Priyadarshan’s cult comedy “Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar (2001),” with Suneil Shetty, Mahima Choudhary and Paresh Rawal. In the film he plays Sunil Shetty’s friend Babban. He again worked with Priyadarshan im “Hungama (2003).”
Throughout his career, Sanjay Narvekar has appeared in numerous films across different languages, including Hindi and Marathi. Sanjay Narvekar In Marathi Films
Narvekar’s Marathi breakthrough came with Kedar Shinde’s Aga Bai Arrecha! starring Narvekar with Dilip Prabhavalkar, Priyanka Yadav, Vijay Chavan and Tejaswini Pandit. The film tells the story of a man who wants the answer to the age-old question, “What do women want?” His wish got fulfilled when he acquired the ability to perceive the thoughts of women. In 2005 he starred in Mahesh Kothare’s Khabardar with Bharat Jadhav and Nirmiti Sawant. In the film he plays a truck driver who witnessed a crime committed by a politician.
One of his most memorable films is Sanjay Jadhav’s Fakta Ladh Mhana (2011). It starred Aniket Vishwasrao, Siddharth Jadhav, Sanjay Narvekar, Santosh Juvekar, Bharat Jadhav, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar and Vaibhav Mangle. The film tells a poignant story of a group of criminals who turned vigilante. Narvekar worked with Umesh Kamat, Siddharth Jadhav and Tejaswini Pandit in the starrer Ye Re Ye Re Paisa (2018), directed by Sanjay Jadhav. He reprised his role as “Anna” in the film’s sequel, Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2 (2019).

Personal Life
Sanjay Narvekar is married to Asita Narvekar. They have a son named Aryan S. Narvekar, who has also ventured into acting, and debuted in Bokya Satbande (2009).
