Harneet Kaur was born on July 8, 1958, in New Delhi into the Punjabi Sikh family of Darshan Singh Ji and Rajee Kaur Singh. Neetu Singh started working in films as a child artist under the screen name Baby Sonia. Her first film was “Suraj” in 1966, at the age of seven years. One of her standout films as a child star was “Do Kaliyan.” It was based on the American film “The Parent Trap (1961),” an adaptaion of Erich Kästner’s novel Lisa and Lottie.
She also starred in successful films like Dus Lakh (1966), Do Kaliyaan (1968), Waris (1969), Pavitra Paapi (1970), and Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani (1970).
