Early Life and Career

Mohan Bhandari, born on July 31, 1953, in Sangrur, Punjab. He was a distinguished Indian actor who left an indelible mark on the television industry with his memorable performances. His career spanned three decades, during which he became a household name through his roles in various popular TV serials.

Bhandari’s professional career began as an employee at the State Bank of India. Bhandari made his acting debut with the 1981 film “Akriet,” directed by Amol Palekar. He then acted in Govind Nihalani’s “Party (1984),” N. Chandra’s Pratighaat (1987),” Shashilal K. Nair’s “Falak (1988),” and many more

His passion for acting led him to the small screen, where he quickly established himself as a talented actor. His debut serial was Khandan (1985), which made him a household name. The show was a hit among audiences and set the stage for his future successes. He followed this with a powerful performance in “Chunauti,” another popular series that dealt with the struggles of college students during the 1980s.

Bhandari went on to act in iconic shows like “Mujrim Hazir,” “Mrignayanee,” “Parampara,” “Humrahi,” “Pathjhad,” “Raja Aur Rancho,” “Abhimaan,” “Pal Chhin,” and “Tanhaiyaan,” where he portrayed characters that resonated with the audience and showcased his versatility as an actor.

Later career

The late 1990s and early 2000s saw Bhandari in “Babul Ki Duwayen Leti Jaa,” “Kittie Party,” “Ehsaas,” “Virudh,” “Main Aisi Kyunn Hoon,” “Baa Bahoo Aur Baby,” and “Rakt Sambandh.” His role as Narpat Singh in “Saat Phere—Saloni Ka Safar” was particularly well-received. His performace gets him critical acclaim and the love of viewers.

Some of Bhandari’s other films, including “Bawandar,” “Khel,” “Paheli,” “Mangal Pandey: The Rising,” and “Tell Me O Kkhuda,” displayed his talent on the big screen.

Tragically, Mohan Bhandari’s life was cut short when he passed away on September 24, 2015, after a battle with a brain tumor. His demise left a void in the Indian television industry and in the hearts of his fans. His son, Dhruv Bhandari, continues his legacy in the acting world, carrying forward the family’s artistic tradition.
