Ashish Chaudhary is a well-known and well-loved name in Hindi films and TV. He is known for his memorable roles in films like “Shaadi Ka Laddoo,” “Dhamaal,” “Double Dhamaal,” and the serials “Imtihaan,” “Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye,” Dev,” and “Beyhadh 2.”

Early Life

Ashish started his career as a model in the mid-1990s and appeared in TV commercials and music videos. Ashish Chaudhary was born on July 21, 1978, in Guwahati, Assa. He hails from a middle-class family. His father, Indur Chaudhary, worked in advertising, while his mother, Sangeeta Chaudhary, was a homemaker. He has a sister, Monica Chaudhary, who tragically passed away during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Ashish grew up in Mumbai after his family relocated, immersing himself in the city’s cultural scene.

Ashish attended Don Bosco High School in Mumbai for his schooling. He later graduated from D.G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Mumbai. His early interest in modeling and acting emerged during these years, shaping his career path.

Ashish made his acting debut with the television series “Apne Jaise Types” in 1995, which set the stage for a career that would span over two decades. He then appeared in famous shoes like Humko Ishq Ne Maara (1997), Wajood (1998), Imtihaan (2002), and Sarhadh (2002). He also starred in the 2001 serial “Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye,” with Kritika Rane and Perizaad Zorabian.

His film debut came with Dil Ka Doctor in 1995. Ashish’s first lead role came with Piyush Jha’s “Chalo America” in 1999. His next was Harry Bawja’s thriller “Qayamat (2003),” followed by his friend Raj Kaushal‘s “Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004).”


However, it was his portrayal of Boman Contractor in Indra Kumar’s comedy film “Dhamaal” (2007) and its sequels that brought him widespread recognition and acclaim.

Some other notable films of Ashish are Fight Club (2006), Teesri Aankh (2006), Speed (2007), The White Land (2008), Rama Rama Kya Hai Dramaaa (2008), EMI (2008), Bhoothnath (2008), Kisse Pyaar Karoon (2009), Paying Guests (2009), Three-Love, Lies, and Betrayal (2009), Daddy Cool (2009), and Double Dhamaal (2011).

Personal Life

Ashish also participated in the reality shows “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi” and “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8.” He also starred in serials like “Ek Mutthi Aasmaan,” “Dev,” and Beyhadh 2. He has also lent his voice to characters in the Hindi dubs of various regional films, further demonstrating his multifaceted talent.

Ashish married actress Samita Bangargi on January 27, 2006, meeting her during a Disney show on Doordarshan. They have three children: son Agastya (born 2008) and twin daughters Salara and Sammah (born 2014).
