Ashwini Kalsekar

Ashwini Kalsekar, born on January 22, 1970, into a Marathi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a versatile actress who has appeared on TV, films, and theater in Hindi and Marathi. She started her career in theatre in 1991, She was trained under Neena Gupta and also Muzammil Vakil, a theatre acting coach, from 1992 to 1995. Ashwini is also a trained Kathak dancer. She started her acting journey with Shanti in 1994.

Known for her ability to seamlessly portray diverse characters, Ashwini has featured in popular shows such as “CID,” “Kasamh Se,” “Laagi Tujhse Lagan” and “Jodha Akbar”. Her impactful performances have garnered her recognition and accolades.

In addition to her television success, Ashwini Kalsekar has made notable appearances in Bollywood films, including memorable roles in “Johnny Gaddaar (2007),” “Golmaal Frenchise (2011),” “Singham (2011),” “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010),” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022).” She has repeatedly worked with directors Sriram Raghavan, Rohit Shetty, and Ram Gopal Varma Her ability to effortlessly transition between different mediums speaks to her versatility as an artist.

Ashwini married Nitesh Pandey in 1998 but the couple divorced in 2002. In 2009, she married acclaimed film and television actor Murali Sharma.
