Anjana Mumtaz, born January 4, 1941, is an Indian actress, who is known for her supporting roles in over a hundred Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati-language films. Born as Anjana Manjrekar, she married Sajid Mumtaz, an Air India official.Her son is Ruslaan Mumtaz.
Renowned for portraying the quintessential’screen mother’ in more than 150 films from 1987 to 2003, we have Anjana Mumtaz (born January 4, 1941). In the 1970s, she graced Bollywood with appearances in predominantly mythological films and took on lead roles in Mahua (1970) and Sambandh (1970), which have songs like “Dono ne kiya tha pyar magar” and “chal Akela.”
Notably, she featured as the leading lady in three consecutive silver jubilee hits alongside comedy maestro Dada Kondke—Aandhla Martoy Dola (1973), Tumcha Amcha Zamla (1976), and Ram Ram Gangaram (1977).
She also has a successful career on TV, she does Doordarshan’s epic “Buniyaad,” directed by Ramesh Sippy.
