Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher (October 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016) was an American actress, author, and screenwriter best known for her iconic role as Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” franchise. Born into Hollywood royalty, the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, she became a cultural icon herself. Beyond her on-screen success, Fisher displayed wit and resilience, openly discussing mental health struggles in her writing and interviews. Her semi-autobiographical novel “Postcards from the Edge” and one-woman show “Wishful Drinking” showcased her sharp humor. Fisher’s legacy extends beyond the galaxy far, far away, as a beloved figure cherished for both her talent and candid humanity.

I have a mess in my head sometimes, and there’s something very satisfying about putting it into words. Certainly it’s not something that you’re in charge of, necessarily, but writing about it, putting it into your words, can be a very powerful experience.
