Bharti Singh, known for her impeccable comic timing and endearing screen presence, is one of the most recognisable faces of the Indian entertainment industry. Early Life and Career
Bharti Singh was born on July 3, 1984, in Amritsar, Punjab. Bharti weighed 5 kg at birth, unusual for newborns. She comes from a Punjabi family with her father having Nepali ancestry. Her father died when she was two, leaving her mother, Kamla Singh, to raise her and two siblings. The family faced financial hardship, relying on Kamla’s work as a maid. She attended BBK DAV College for Women in Amritsar before going to Punjab Technical University to pursue her higher education.
During her growingup years she was very active in NCC. She joined NCC camps to escape hardship. She won gold medals in archery and pistol shooting. Bharti was active in extra curicular activities during her college life. Comedian Sudesh Lehri spotted her talent during a youth festival, casting her in a play. Kapil Sharma encouraged her to audition for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2008),

Bharti’s breakthrough came with the stand-up comedy reality series “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” in 2008, where she was the second runner-up. Her portrayal of the character ‘Lalli‘ won hearts and set the stage for her future endeavors.
After that, she went on to appear in many shows such as “Comedy Circus 3 Ka Tadka (2009),” “Comedy Circus Maha-Sangram (2010),” “Comedy Circus Ke SuperStars (2010),” and ‘”Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo’(2010).” Since then, she has donned various hats as an actress, host, and reality show participant.

Following her success, Bharti became a household name with ‘Comedy Circus’ and later showcased her versatility in various roles across television and films. She made her Bollywood debut with “Khiladi 786” in 2012 and appeared in the Kannada film “Rangan Style” in 2013.
She also hosted many shows like “India’s Got Talent 5, 7, and 8 (2014–18),” “Comedy Nights Bachao (2015),” “India’s Best Dancer (2019),” “Khatra Khatra Khatra (2019),” “Dance Deewane (2021),” “Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan (2022),” “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs (2022),” and many more.
Not one to shy away from challenges, Bharti participated in several reality shows, including “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5,” ‘”Nach Baliye 8,” and “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9,” displaying her competitive spirit and determination. She was also an integral part of the Kapil Sharma Show for several years.
Personal Life
Bharti married writer Haarsh Limbachiyaa on December 3, 2017, after dating for years. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy Laksh, in April 2022.
